You Have To Visit - Just Not While I’m There

You know how it feels after a week deep in edits - your eyes hurt, your postures hunched and your bodies screaming GET OUTSIDE…. this last week, Ive had the feels.

Ive been thinking of my places outdoors in the world, in particular the places that make me feel like I’m on the edge of the wild - And how do I get back there.

The place that really makes me feel like the wild is just on the next trail around the bend is New Zealand. And the plans are formulating in my head for the next adventure there later this year.

Although I love me a camp in the Australian bush, or a beach town get away, there is something about the colour of the dirt, the harshness of the snow capt mountains and the deep greens of the forests in Tolkien’s fantasy land of the long white cloud.

The plan is simple. Shoot the lakes, shoot the mountain bikers, take the adventure to the wild of New Zealand once again. And my location of choice? Glenorchy, Otago.

In this quiet little town of nothing I have found my most solace. With Queenstown just a stones throw away for the adrenaline fix, Glenorchy puts me on the edge of the wild, the town at the end of the road, with just the mountains waiting for me.

If you haven't been and you crave that place of solace I implore you visit… Just not while I am there. ✌️
